What is Reiki?
The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “universal” and (Ki) which means “vital life force energy”. This vital life force energy is considered the universal energy that flows through all living things, scientifically, perhaps better known as the Biofield. Reiki uses ancient healing symbols intended to invoke this powerful, yet gentle universal energy, which theoretically passes to the client through an attuned Reiki practitioner. Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice and it is not massage. It is considered a subtle and effective form of energy work using guided life force energy believed to help reduce stress and accelerate the healing process. Reiki incorporates the use of the human hand as the tool for moving and harmonizing the body’s energies and fields.
There are variations as to the origins of Reiki; I have been taught that its origins lie in the ancient Indian Sutras and Tibetan practices. The healing symbols in these practices were brought forth in the mid-nineteenth century by a Japanese Christian Monk named Dr. Mikao Usui, thus the name Usui System of Natural Healing was formed.

What can Reiki do for me?
Reiki’s uses are many and varied. This universal life force energy is believed to address each persons needs differently; it can work differently for each person and each session. The theoretical basis of Reiki is that it can reactivate the body’s natural healing abilities, balance energy and the chakra system, support the release of mental, emotional, physical or spiritual blockages, relieves stress and promote a sense of well being, it can work at the root level cause of an issue to name a few benefits Reiki can provide.

Do I have to be physically present, and how many sessions are recommended?
One of the profound things about Reiki is that a client does not have to be physically present in order to receive Reiki. Universal Life Force Energy is in all things and beyond time and space. As such, sessions can be given and received at anytime and anywhere in the world.
While it is not possible to provide any guarantees, it is recommended that clients receive a minimum of 3 sessions, but truly, there is no limit. I believe the more the better! Each session can support opening the pathways to your true self and your loving heart!

What can I expect during a session?
An in-person session is done with clothing on, either lying down or sitting in a comfortable position. The practitioner might place their hands directly on the client, either following specific hand positions or work with the client using their intuition. For long distance sessions it is suggested that the client be sitting or lying comfortably while the practitioner is working with them.
During, or after a Reiki session you may be aware of nothing at all or you may have profound experiences. There is no right or wrong! However, there are no guarantees as to what outcomes you may experience from your Reiki session(s). I believe that you will receive exactly what is right for you at that time and it’s always different.
Did you know that not all “clients” are human? Animals can be very responsive to Reiki too!

What can I expect after the session?
Most often people report having a sense of deep relaxation after a session, however, it is unknown how you will respond to Reiki. Old thoughts, feelings, fears, body aches or anything else may return briefly, but then clear, this can be refered to as a detoxification process – at times, things can get worse as they come to the surface, before they clear out. These experiences can be perceived as negative. While generally, there is no need for concern, it is possible to experience physical discomfort and/or emotional distress during or after a Reiki session. You are advised to let Loral know if you experience any physical discomfort and/or emotional distress during or after a Reiki session. Loral believes things you are ready to be free can clear only as you are ready. You don’t need to know what might be clearing or why, rather, you can relax, have a warm bath, drink extra water and enjoy what is shifting.

Loral was responsible for healing our horse emotionally and physically where 2 surgeries and multiple vets were unsuccessful.
Our journey began with her when she was at our place for a birthday party and she walked by our horses. Our horse “Tux”, communicated to her “please help my friend”. The friend was our new horse who had unexpectedly developed a severe abscess at an old injury site on his side. The vets were perplexed as they could find nothing which was causing it. After 2 surgeries and still finding no foreign objects causing the abscesses, the vets did not have an answer and our horse was not getting any better; we were considering putting him down.
In a remote healing Loral accurately saw a deep sadness in our horse related to the loss of his brother. I checked with the previous owner and it was true.
Loral worked with his emotional body and we saw a distinct difference in his personality the next day. He was happier and more engaged. She also did hands on healing and remote physical healing of his absess. Miraculously it healed, and has not recurred since.
It is also amazing to see how the horses respond to her touch. Often they just close their eyes and drop into a deep state of relaxation. She is truly a gifted healer.
